A: Poured from the can into a Tree House tulip glass. Body is slightly hazy golden, a little more golden-orange when backlit, with a 2-finger bubbly white head that settles pretty quickly.
S: Tropical fruit: pineapple & melon rind. Also lemons.
T: Sweet: brown sugar or sugar cookie foundation, then sweeter tropical fruit: mango, papaya, ripe melon. Heat and bite from the 8.2% ABV is definitely noted. I find that a lot of these Double NEIPAs hide the alcohol really well; I wouldn't say that about this beer at all. Sugary sweetness coats the palate and lingers in the aftertaste.
M: Thick and sticky in feel.
O: I haven't bought a lot of Singlecut recently - it's too damn pricey, frankly, with many of their 4-packs going for $20 or more - but I splurged on this one and I'm a bit disappointed. Just too sweet and sticky, and too hot.
