Pours a slightly hazy orange color. A large foam head, with notes of ruby, displays great retention.
Great nose that is both funky and dank, displaying the best of both worlds. Aromas of watermelon, yuzu, guava, pineapple, mango, grass and chives.
Easy going tart flavors with fruity notes of watermelon and yuzu as the centerpiece. The malt base evokes dry cracker malt and sourdough. It supports fruity notes of, pineapple, lemon, lime and guava, as well as spicy notes of piney, grassy and peppery hops. The finish is dry with a slight mouth puckering acidity and resiny flavors.
Medium bodied and refreshingly easy to drink. The dry palate displays moderate acidity and a smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate.
As far as sour IPAs go, this one really hit the mark for me. I especially liked how the sour qualities were restrained enough so as to allow the IPA flavors and aromatics to shine. I would have again.
