SMELL INTO THE FUTURE with dazzling Cryo Pop technology! Sniff into the mystical cloud that is Yakima Chief Hop's Cryo Pop blend, a baffling wave of ripe guava, electric nectarine, and bold clementine juice, then a crash of dank resin, fresh lime rind and a long deep linger of the unknown. If the future includes foamy stark white messes every time a pint can is emptied into a clear glass liter mug, let's opt for the past. By far, this is not the worst offender, but looks say this could use a little more barley malt. There's an off-IPA aroma coming from the murky orange-amber liquid. Something ceral, like a combination of wheat and oat seem to dominate. This tastes far worse than could be expected, especially since Yakima Chief hops are pronounced on the label. Not only are they muted by all the starch, they're weak in their taste performance. The hops here are neither very earthy, nor bitter. Worse yet, this occurs in a medium that is super thin and missing a good malt balance to whatever hopping there is. This is disappointing for anyone looking for a full flavored AIPA. But, if
a dose of hops that's above a commercial adjunct lager, in a body a little less malty smooth, which has a slightly higher ABV, this one's for you.

Can into pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy light gold with a brief off-white head that fades quickly. Initial impression is citrus rind, tropical fruits, and a touch of pine. Mouthfeel is medium, as is carbonation. Finish is slightly sweet, fading to an unexpected dankness. Overall, a very enjoyable IPA that isn't your typical pineapple/mango/orange/grapefruit profile.

Hazy yellow/light straw color. White head, not super thick, but lacy. Those chalky candies, Smarties (not the chocolaty ones, I'm talking the stack of little discs)... smells like that... mixed with those valentine heart candies with the words on them. I didn't think it would, but taste follows... kindof has the aftertaste of those chalky candies, but in a good way. Really really soft pillowy mouthfeel, really light after taste.
This one is at least unique... don't know how to peg it... it drinks way lighter than 7% though. I'm intrigued.
