on tap at Fraunces Tavern in NYC on a very hot and humid June day; totally hit the spot, with good to very good hefe notes: nice middling body and mouthful, good balance that probably tilts toward cloves and away from banana; some nice grassy notes, too, and maybe a little vanilla, but faint. Very quaffable and refreshing.

Looks darker than avg wheat. Smells like a wheat beer but maybe a little too scented. Tastes horrible. I like singlecut and like a lot of wheat beers but have to remember to skip this beer. It's why I wrote this. Can't even finish this. And tried at a later point too. Nope, not for me.

Appearance is a little darker than I expected, but very nice lacing down the glass and a cloudiness that suggests a hefe. The nose, honestly, is the shining factor in this beer - it's vanilla, bread, cracker, wet wood, hay, lemon, barn, wool, banana peel, exploded firework (but not smoke). The taste is lemon, bread, clean spice, and still a little vanilla note coming through. Definitely agree with the "effervescent" description here. This is not a world beating hefeweizen to me... but it's pretty crushable.
