Appearance: pours a dark orange transparent color. Half a finger of head on the pour which settled in and wasn't really present while drinking. Active carbonation is bright, about right for the style.
Smell: Wheat and belgian yeast open up on the front. Subtle bouquet of tropical fruits with saturated tangerines being the biggest player. Bready malts with some highlights of maple syrup pull through on the back end.
Taste: Spite yeast with bright tropical fruits jump the palate. Maltiness settles in on the body with highlights of orange peel riding throughout. Sweetness continues to carry through from the yeast and malts.
Mouthfeel: Very clean feeling on the palate. Yeast adds some bright notes that pop through the malty textures.
Overall: Another outstanding offering from Spiteful. Nothing overly complex but it hits all the checkpoints that a belgian IPA should. Tropical hop backbone really pulls it through.
