On tap, in came in a tulip glass with a small head, lots of lacing. The color was a medium gold, a bit of chill haze that seemed to clear up fast. Smelled of passion fruit, a bit of clove, and some cat funk. Starts with the fruit forward, but lots of hop astringency follows, and bubbly on the tongue. No heat from the alcohol in the finish, which leaves hop oil all over the tongue. Overall, a worthy effort.

Cloudy light amber beer. Very appetizing. Scent is really appealing though I can't identify what it smells like, but the taste is puzzling. There's a light tropical fruitiness but it's not distinct. The feel is effervescent, especially for a DIPA, and somewhat creamy. Spiteful is a local nano-brewery and I've liked some of their beers but with most, the initial taste gives way to a somewhat cloying quality. I also think the brewers are too in love with amarillo hops.
