January 31st, 2015 - The Double Point Break is a gnarly beer, shaking hands with the olfactory in a way that definitely impressive. With a slight grape touch but a sophisticated, exquisite restraint, this brew comes off as powerful, natural and well honed. But the flavor is just a tad too sweet, at least for the first taste. The second considered sip is better, evening out some of those sweet grape flavors, though it now seems almost watery.

On tap at the Barrel Republic.

A: Nice deep amber-brown with a huge tan head that leaves patterned sticky lacing.

Aroma: Complex aroma of a typical Belgian Dubbel. Yeasty, fruity (including banana) floral and spicy.

Flavor: slightly sweet; good complexity.

Feel: Near medium body seems just a touch watery; good soft carbonation level.

O: A tasty beer worthy of the "Belgian Dubbel" label. .
