April 12th, 2015 - I'm not precisely sure what a San Diego style Hefeweizen its (the BJCP guidelines are silent on the matter) but it is a stellar beer. Hazy and deep, it looks like a very deep Hefeweizen, but the aroma is lighter and less wheat and banana leaning than a traditional hefe. Instead is tight and fruity with citrus, organically bright and acidic. The flavor is tasty and features biscuit at its center, with a nice orange marmalade dryness. The body is thinner for easy drinking, but the long citrus aftertaste with its refreshing and crisp bitterness makes me enjoy each sip to the fullest.
