November 1st, 2015 - Almost every beer that comes out of Rip Current is a winner, but there are exceptions and the Crimson Rye Red is one of them. It's a decent beer up front but a touch boozy, with a rusty rye scent. But it also has a strong smell of sweet apple, almond and raw pumpkin. That last note worries me because it signals an off flavor. And indeed the gourd and pumpkin flavor comes back with a fierceness in the flavor, making this an unpleasant beverage.
