August 3rd, 2016 - Classified as a Belgian Pale Ale, this is a decidedly dark brew, with just a hint of an almond colored halo, but a deep, woody brown color in the body. The head fluffs up a little right at the pour but collapses quickly, leaving just a thin wafer of bubbles on top. A little fruit and apple snakes out of the aroma, and the same rich laurel of esters is found in the flavor too. Flatter, and thinner, it lets the apple and pear notes come through clearly. A dark brew, yes, but lighter in flavor, with the Golden Ale yeast on display.
