This one poured a golden lager yellow with a fizzy head that quickly disappeared and no lacing, not a particularly interesting nor attractive pour. Smell however was a little more redeeming, grain, grassy smells and some bold barley malt smells in the nose there. This is reflected in the taste, which too is quite nice. However this one can get pretty watery in the finish.

Overall I'd say this is a decent beer, More of a Lager than a Blonde Ale. Pretty refreshing.

A: Golden-bronze, white head, no retention, but it initially leaves a little lace.

S: Metallic hops (with a little grass & floral aroma); North American pale malt (grainy bread). Hints of sulfur and minerals (the water?).

T: Metallic hop flavour that I'm not particularly fond of, along with some other minerals. Modest pale malt flavour in the background. Slightly bitter in balance.

M: Solid moderate body, not attenuated as much as a Belgian, but has a pleasant, crisp finish. Moderate carbonation.

D: Easily approachable; modest alcohol; sessionable, but I'm not loving it.

A well made Blonde Ale. Pours out to a cool golden color with a lively head of white foam. No lace. Medium level of carbonation. Aromas of fresh malts and light hay, with a touch of a bready character. Taste is enjoyable; malt, light grain, a sweet belgian quality comes to mind, as does the flavor of straw. Mouthfeel was nominal and uneventful. Drinkability is pretty good. A nice backyard barbeque beer. Worth a try.

I decided to try a Walkerville Brewing Company beer today, perhaps more out of allegiance to my hometown of Windsor than for any conscious reason - I grabbed a six-pack from the shelves of the LCBO and was on my way. Unfortunately, while I would love it to be, it's far from special. It instills no pride in my Windsor, makes me feel no warmth towards it. The fact of the matter is that Walkerville Premium Blonde is the definition of an average beer in almost every facet - miles ahead of its macro equivalents, but beyond that, nothing special.

Appearance is the colour of a pale macro lager, essentially - though perhaps a bit more golden in hue. It's topped by a mere one finger of head that dissapates quickly, though it leaves considerable lacing. Very much in-line with what I've seen in the style, but nothing spectacular at all.

Smell is pleasant - though again, nothing special. Smells 'crisp,' with faint hints of apples and apricots. Malty, with some grassy hops. Sweet graininess. Beyond that, there's very little discernable beyond those general statements.

Taste is crisp, though far from complex. Malty throughout, very bread-y and biscuity. I'd be hard pressed, though, in a blind taste test, to distinguish this ale from any of a rather large number of lagers. That's not to knock it, however, because this is rather refreshing. Sour apples are hinted throughout the taste, along with a grassy hoppiness. Finish is dry, though not excessively, and the beer is generally quite well-balanced, though contrasted slightly with a faint bitterness upon swallowing. Ultimately, the best thing I can say in terms of taste are that Walkerville's Premium Blonde is crisp and refreshing; going any further is difficult.

Mouthfeel is pretty good, however - a substantial body belies the pale golden of the brew, and carbonation is crisp, though certainly not obtrusive.

Walkerville Premium Blonde gets its highest points, though, in drinkability. Though simple and perhaps a little bland, this little brew is one of the most refreshing, thirst-quenching beers I've tried in awhile. It would be a pleasure to imbibe a few of these with friends on a hot summer night. It's for that reason that I could see myself buying this beer again (though I'd probably go directly to the source to obtain it in the future, some time when I'm home in Windsor for a weekend), and why I'd reccomend it to anyone who asked.

Average, certainly, but there's something that's just so 'no-nonsense' about this ale that you have to love it. Or, well, at least I do.

Clear gold with no lingering head. Soft sweetness in the aroma, kind of like cotton candy, with some apple and brown sugar. Low bitterness, but it takes over in the finish. Some fruit as well. There's a bit of harsh acidity from the CO2 at the end as well. Light body with slightly aggressive carbonation and slight dryness. This bottle was OK, but in my past experience this beer takes the cake for flavour variability between kegs.

New at Smokeless Joe's. Was drinkable and decent fresh taste and about the right level of carbonation. A bit creamy but not all that smooth for a blond. Not much to appearance or aroma. Light mouthfeel, with grain but also somewhat watery. Significant malts.

Growler filled at the brewery: decanted a slightly hazy light gold color... small 1 finger white cap that dissipates quickly and leaves a weak ring. Starts rather thin but then this changes to a silky mouth feel punctuated (but not dominated) by the signature Walkerville biscuit malt tastes...finish is a bit dryer than the malty start with the hops (no saaz) and leaves a pilsner like impression. Tastey lager...not a pilsner but a light lager with some pilsner characteristics. Unfortuanely it will get lost in the sea of similar light lagers and pilsners out there. Nice but does not stand out.

A very average beer that has a hazy apricot-colored body topped by less than a finger of white foam on a hard pour. Lacing is better than expected from the residual layer of bubbly foam. Nose is malty with grassy nots and the flavor is oddly malty with very slight hopping noticed. Wrinkled nose kind of flavor that doesn't impress the drinker with much quality. Weak and medium body with no crispness in the finish. Maybe a lawnmower beer at best.

Appearance: 341ml bottle. golden pour with a medium, white head. very little carbonation.

Smell: Sharp and floral. Sweet grains are present and a very light hoppiness backed up by a touch of malt.

Taste: malty up front. light hop bitterness and very grainy in the body. . why does the word organic spring to mind? floral and light in a sense. slightly sweet on the finish.

Mouthfeel: smooth and almost creamy. bitter on the finish.

Drinkablilty: the more i sampled this 1 particular bottle, the more i enjoyed it. while this isn't a world classic blond, i did enjoy the hoppiness it had to offer and i appreciated that it was somewhat different thatn most generic "blonds".
