April 2014: Shared bottle at local tasting. Pitch black colour, no head. Nice roasty and sweetish aroma, notes of chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Little carbonation. Medium sweet and distinctly roasty flavour, coffee, molasses and chocolate. A little more hops would not hurt.

Pours a flat, solid black with a chocolate hue.
Smells of fresh chocolate cake/brownies.
Tastes smooth, whiskied, rich, bitter coffee and cocoa, smokey sweet vanilla.
Warm, boozy background and milkshake thickness.
Decadence meant to be sipped. Love it.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.
Expires November 2023.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, caramel, slight whiskey, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa, char, whiskey, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness an an alcohol kick on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty but the whiskey presence all around is fairly subtle compared to American barrel aged beers.
