On tap at Bateau de Nuit. Hazy yellow. Smells of tropical fruit, lime, and woodsy pine. Tastes of lime zest and bright fruitiness. Pineapple. It's piña colada. I sat here for 10 minutes trying to figure out what it tastes like. It's piña colada. Light residual sweetness and no bitterness. Lingering coconut. It's not bad. Not my cup of tea, but not bad.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Frothy rich, with very fine foaming head creation a bit oversized and reaching a giant fist full of length and height. Off white in color slightly and big staying power bordering on ridiculous appearances. Surprisingly clear somewhat bodied, with nice carbonation. Giving to light golden amber yellow, and a nice looking glow.

Quite a nice aroma. Soft hop like action of light orange citrus and hints exotic tropical. Real juicy sensing, with a perfume like note that is also floral too. Seems like a diverse creation a bit here which is a nice touch.

Palate seems more grounded but also quite delicious. More of a mango and guava tropical flavor, that is quite thick in the mid palate. That mouthfeel is particularly rich with a delicious juicy fruit type of quality as well. Finishes with excellent fruit richness and touches light hints of icing sugar sweetness. Faint touches of light pine bitterness as well.

Not a very exotic or distinct IPA, but one with an excellent base profile that makes for easy drinking and great flavor. Really nicely done here.

Brasserie Artisanale Lagabière - Broue Pub "Ta Meilleure"

Notes via stream of consciousness: Ahh, Quebec! How I wish I were there right now! The packaging design is quite nice; and the beer has poured a cloudy golden beneath a finger's width of bright white foam. The nose is pungent and resinous, "dank", piney, and citrusy/tropical. I'm quite curious now as to what hops these might be. On to the flavor... well it's got some hop bite to it. There's more tropical fruit than I thought there would be given the aroma, and I'm going to note mango, melon, peach, and orange although I'm sure you can find more if you put in a little more effort. There is a touch of pine to it as well which is nice because you don't always get that and I think it works to great advantage here, putting a little snap behind the fruitiness. It's nicely balanced and not too sweet with the hop acids giving you a little burn. Of course the malt is quite basic, and I'll call it bready and doughy. It all works together really well. It's medium bodied but appears fuller due to all of the extra proteins, and it's quite smooth and silky. I wonder if they're using oats. I think so. Overall I could've used a little more in the aroma but there's certainly enough there that I wouldn't fault it, just my personal preference. Ehhhh... and maybe the head retention and lacing could have been better as well, but to be honest I'm pretty damned pleased with it.
