Taste: Coffee/Passion fruit/Herbal.
Feel: Earthy/Piney/Resinous/Chalky.

A:
It pours a sludgy looking black with a suggestion of a suggestion of tan head.  Meh retention;  vague semblance of lacing. (3.5)

S:
Coffee, tobacco and ditch weed. (3.5)

T:
Mud, chocolate, hollow grassy hops. (3.25)

M:
Thin with anemic "bubbles", lingering malty finish. (3.25)

O:
Missed the mark a little on this one.
It is not out and out bad or off, but let's just say there's a reason Guinness has a proprietary system for N2 in their beers. There is nothing that really pops in any part of it. The aroma has that nice chocolate orange idea present but not in a good quantity. The flavor is muddy and doesn't really push in any one direction. It is relatively drinkable which is making me bump it up a little overall, but quite frankly I feel like I paid more for less so that they could have a half-assed gimmick. Dig the label, but I'll stick to their normal IPA or other local Black IPAs in the future. (3.5)
