L- Beyond deep copper it is indeed red. Clear, with decent rising CO2. Considering it is 8.7% the 5-10mm pale-cream head is holding well.
S- Seems mild, I just get some light roasted malts.
T- Quite bright, a brief apple-juice facet then into somewhat toffee-ish and rich with a bolder hop and perhaps hint of sour-apple into the finish. This repeats for the first several sips. That's quite some flavour journey on the palate but it seems to work together well.
F- Big and bold but the brighter hops and sour/bitter apple facet mean it's not at risk of swamping my palate. However it is still a full-on heavy beer hence one for slow-sipping for me. I could see myself sharing a 330ml of this is a couple of small glasses...
O- It's certainly big and bold. It's a warm day so I'm glad I started this off fridge-cold. Perhaps more suited to winter. Very finely brewed, nothing to object to here, or note as out of place/balance.
[I prefer this to the Elgood's English Blonde Ale - same ABV% - that I tried yesterday].
330ml bottle. Bought from BeersOfEurope 330ml bottle £3.29 BB: Feb-2027.
