From growler. Pours dark brown with a big bubbly off white head that retains well and laces the glass some.
The aroma is roast black patent malts with with a little bubblegum and piney hops.
The flavor is soapy malts with a big bitter roast finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, not as good as when I've had before. Lots of bitter roast, but less hop profile with odd gummy soapy Belgian notes.

A damn solid black ale / cascadian dark ale / black IPA (whatever!). As a session beer it's very full bodied but yet not overwhelming at all, almost "session" like. Brown and roasty malts balance well with a thick body and a plentiful, yet appropriately balance degree of hoppiness. One of the better black ales out there.
