On draft at Black Bottle Brewery. Poured a crystal clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left some lacing. It smelled of sweet bread, caramel and floral notes. Sweet caramel taste with toasty notes and a mild bitterness.

what a good and underappreciated beer this is, we get so few authentic examples of kolsch here in the states, especially in colorado, and this one hits all the marks for me, i even like the slightly stronger abv than we are used to in the imports, it makes it a four season beer here, and i dig that. its clear from the tap, bright golden and fizzy, looks like a nice heady macro lager, but has some serious european malt character in both the aroma and flavor, has a cold conditioned sort of lagered crispness in the feel, an appreciable german yeast complexion, as well as some noble type grassy floral hops in the finish, its robust but remarkable authentic in its flavor profile, even the mineral feel in the water seems right to me, and its supremely drinkable, really no limit to how much of this i could put down if left to my own devices. i could see this being fabulous with spicy food like chicken wings, or something salty and soy based, a palate cleanser but more than that too. i really dont think these guys get enough attention for their beers, they cover literally all of the bases really well, have a ton of creative and inventive beers, and they always taste really good. nice job with this one, they should package it if they dont already...
