From growler. Pours dark brown black with a medium creamy tan head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is roast black patent malt and coffee.
The flavor is strong acidic roasted black patent malt and some coffee with some ashy bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, dominated by the roast. I remember this being a much better balance of chocolate and coffee.

Pours black with a mocha head. Big and bold aroma of some dark, bitter coffee and the cocoa nibs on top of a roasty malt underbelly. Flavor was similar, very aggressive, but not much nuance to it. Big dark, bitter coffee married to the cocoa nibs dominate, some roasted malt hide underneath, though the base porter is not anything special . A medium to fuller mouthfeel. Overall, easily the best thing I have tried from these guys so far. Very enjoyable and reminded me a lot of Epic's Big Bad Baptist with its aggressive coffee and cocoa nibs profile, though not quite in BBB's league yet. I'd like to see them keep this one in constant rotation, though given their approach of constantly rotating their brews that is highly unlikely.
