Liquid Metal is a malt-forward Imperial Rye Stout. On-tap, the beer pours a deep, dark brown with a thin ring of mocha colored head that provides sticky, sticky lace. Roasted malt and chocolate dominate the nose with a touch of bitter coffee present, as well. The rye is much more noticeable as it opens on the palate before strong coffee flavors overshadow it. The finish is quite smooth with chocolate hints and 70 IBUs helping to pull it all together. Medium-light in body, this roasty brew is moderately carbonated. If you haven't had a Black Bottle Beer yet, do yourself a favor and get some!
Cheers!

Pours a dark dark brown with a big mocha head. Aroma is roasty, filled with bakers chocolate, a little espresso, and the rye paired with thehops providing a nice spent tobacco component to it. Flavor pretty much followed suit. A thinnish to medium bodied mouthfeel, lacked much character. Not a detriment in any way but also didn't add anything. Overall, good stuff.

a tad on the thin side for the style, but an enjoyable brew from the newish black bottle nevertheless. cocoa powder brown color with an inch or so off a slightly more pale head, creamy and tall. nose has quite a bit of bitter coffee and burnt barley punch to it, and I can smell the booze. the flavor seems mild compared to the smell, lots of roast, but the lack of body seems a little out of place here. its almost light in feel despite the flavor depth. still coats the palate well enough, but it finishes a little too quick for me. a strange mouthfeel indeed, but a well balanced stout that actually hides its strength better than the nose indicates. I wasn't blown away, but its enough to make me want to try more from these guys.
edit: the recipe must have changed on this, as ive had it recently and was pretty blown away, flush in body now, more rye driven, and luxuriously delicious. bumping up a few scores to reflect its evolution as a beer. really solid stuff.
