We did the tour of the brewery, which was phenomenal, and then had lunch in the taproom, which is in the old malthouse and called the Malthouse Kitchen. It has great ambience, a lot of old character, pleasant feel, just lively enough without being loud, nice lighting, old beams and nice brickwork, nicely converted into a modern eatery while maintaining all the original elements and feel. Service was great, which was true for every step, from making reservations, booking the tour, doing the tour, and eating. Enthusiastic and thorough. Beers are excellent, the great Hook Norton beers, and range is excellent. They had about 4 or 5 cask ales on - Old Hooky, Hooky Bitter, Hooky Gold, Off the Hook IPA, and one other, plus about 6 different keg beers, including their Rye beer, a lager, a keg stout, and others. The food is excellent, well-made pub food, like steak and Hooky ale pie, loaded nachos, goat cheese fritters and more. We'll definitely come here again when anywhere near the Cotswolds.
