APPEARANCE: Transparent light brown pour yields a one finger, creamy, off-white head with decent retention. Deep mahogany red with some carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a thin wisp and ring. Slight wisp remains leaving falling dots of lacing on the glass.
SMELL: Earthy aromas, dark malts, like dark crystal or special B, as well as some dark fruits and some herbal hop aromas. Medium strength.
TASTE: Taste mirrors the nose. Earthy start with dark crystal malts, toffee and some butterscotch at the swallow. Bold finish of raisins and prunes with dark fruits sweetness, as well as some herbal hop character and some light bitterness linger on the palate.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes slightly mouth-coating. Nice.
OVERALL: This is pretty solid stuff, though it has absolutely nothing, and I mean NO-thing, to do with a porter, let alone a double porter. Tough to score a tasty hot dog that calls itself potato salad. Is it good potato salad? Nope. Too bad they didn’t call it a hot dog. This is another example of either the brewer not having ever had a porter before, or the marketing department calling it a porter before they actually had a final product. I swear some breweries should just brew a beer, wait until it’s done, taste it, then say what it is, as this is has about as much to do with the porter style as pilsner does with an IPA. Don’t pile pilsner malt in your IPA, and don’t overload your porter with dark crystal and/or special B. Done. Anyways, give it a try, as it’s solid, but not if you’re looking for a (double) porter.

Dark colour, with red hints when the glass is held to the light. Off white small head that fades leavign a film on the surface, good lace. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, raisins, Medium body, creamy texture, red fruits flavour, good carbonation. Taste o fchocolate, red and dried fruits, coffee.

Deep dark brown colour with a decent head, but this quickly fades away. Smell of roasted malts and some hop. The taste is a bit unimpressive initially, but after the swallow you'll get a mouth full of dry coffee flavour. The body itself is quite watery though, in taste as well as in feel. A fine beer, but it needs more oomph.

Pours an almost opaque black with a decent head that gives way quickly to a thin coffee-like lacing. Smells like a typical porter, with roasted malts, molasses and a bit of coffee. The taste is kinda what you'd expect from the smell, with a sweet roasty malt backbone with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. A bit watered down for my taste, the taste, aftertaste and consistence being lighter than I'd like, but still a good brew.

The taste is kinda what you'd expect from the smell, with a sweet roasty malt backbone with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. These boys are on to something. Good, deep roasty smell and flavors, fantastic color and head retention darn good. Slightly alcoholic, well masked by malty sweetness. Wld pay money for this. Suspect it may do well being barrel lagered, come on, give it a shot

From a 330ml bottle into a tulip.
A: Pours an extremely dark brown, almost black, with a dense beige head. Very nice head retention. Good lacing.
S: Initial is a little sour... Roasty malt, slight bit of coffee. Some floral hops.
T: Roasty, but not as roasty as one would expect (given the aroma). A bit of chocolately sweetness, some dark fruits.
M: Medium/lightly-full bodied. A slightly dry finish with medium bitterness.
