L: Hazy yellow with a decent head that dissipates leaving good lacing.

S: Citrusy and piney hops, decent breadiness from malt.

T: Moderate bitterness, citrus hops, and a very round basemalt character.

F: Crisp and medium bodied.

Overall: A very nice IPA, although not the best showcase of Citra I have had.

16 oz can into a tulip glass.

Pours a hazy yellow gold color with 2 fingers of frothy white head. Excellent retention here, leaving a crown of sticky cobwebs as it settles into a thin layer of foam.

The aroma brings notes of grapefruit flesh, orange rind, and lemon zest. Nicely bready with plenty of peppery spice.

The flavor has quite a bit of peppery spice and lemon-lime juice up front, followed by a wave of grapefruit and orange, backed up by a solid cracker malt. Finishes with some sweet melon and bubblegum. Very acidic and herbaceous.

The feel is medium bodied with pretty good carbonation. A little slick, but drinkable with a dry finish.

Overall, this is a good single hop IPA. It isn't complex or exploding with flavor, but it definitely sticks to the core of the Citra hop and gives you exactly what you should be expecting.

This is kinda bland and disappointing from this fantastic brewery. The look reminds me of Tang with irregular lacing. Nice enough bouquet with citrus (citra duh) notes of grapefruit, orange and resin. The palate is a bit boring and a lot biting with some bready malt back. Finishes bitter.

From the undated 16 oz. can. Sampled on May 1, 2020.

The pour is a heady, slightly foggy light amber color. Near opaque.

The aroma is more akin to herbal and tobacco characters rather than citrus. Some vague citrus but not up front. Breadiness.

Medium mouthhfeel.

This tastes a little on the old side as the citrus character has definitely faded into more of a stale tobacco like character. Mild bitter end.

473 ml can Opened and reviewed on 3/14/20

Pours out with a straw gold color, white and yellow haze tint, soft white foamy dome mellows to a thin cover with thick and intricate lacing.

I really like single hop IPA's because get to know the individual effect and it's charecteristics. Citra is an all star hop and has always been a favorite cone. The aromatics from this hop primarily tend to be earthy/musky/ peppery citrus for me. This one also seems to have a mix of deeply aromatic herbs and spices, like Grandma's old spice rack thenSweet and tangy citrus. The malt is very light with "golden" aspects like, wheat, dry grasses and sun baked corn husks.

The flavor pretty much follows suit with a mix of earthy herbs, black pepper and citrus fruitiness from the hops. A light and crispy mouthfeel and blast of pilsner (but ale cleanliness) style malted barley tones. Slightly tart and herbal with lingering effects of dry grassy hops and herbal malt.

I can't say it's crazy complex, but I personally love just Citra and clean maltiness. It goes a long way and keeps my interest throughout with minimal flavor changing.

A: The beer is quite hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation along with faint hints of amber hues. It poured with a short bright white head that died down, leaving a webbing of bubbles on the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of gooseberries and limes are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has a bit stronger flavors of gooseberries and limes from the Citra hops. Some hints of lychee are perceptible. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer does a very good job at showcasing the Citra hops. It's quite drinkable as it isn't as heavy or bitter compared to other IPAs.

Poured into a 12 oz tulip. Translucent straw. Piney smell. Foamy head turns into lacing. Slight pine flavo, lots of lemon and orange peel. Honeydew melon finish. Silky mouthfeel. Bought in NJ (!). Really enjoy it.

Pours a semi clear orange with thick, fluffy head.

Smell is herbal and floral with notes of citrus, pine and a hint of onion. Pretty dank.

Taste is dank and citrusy with notes of pine, florals and some herbs. Pretty fruity with a moderate bitterness and ends with a hint of melon.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft, and well carbonated.

Overall, a very nice IPA.
