12oz can. Stamp on bottom lip is '07/07 #92'.
Partly cloudy, pale gold colored body. Two fingers of white head which become a thin cap and higher ring. Just a few scattered lacing spots.
Aroma of sweet grain malt and a little fruity citrus.
Taste is sweet, with a little sour grain. Grain malt and green apple. Sweet grain malt continues in the aftertaste.
Medium mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Very good carbonation.
Presents as a malted beverage but not enjoyable enough to have another.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of bubbly foam. It left minimal lacing on the glass. It smelled of toasted caramel, toffee and floral notes. Sweet toffee taste with roasted caramel malt and a mild bitterness.

Taste: airy crisp, smooth, caramel malts, mellow, hint of stone fruit. Semi sweet malt and cider-like nose. Amber/orange hue, clear, amber head with delicate lace. A lighter version of the Big German original Oktoberfest beers. 15 IBUs

Looks as expected. Smells like a Coors Banquet. Tastes like a Coors Banquet but with a lingering mouthfeel that keeps the terrible taste in your mouth way longer than you'd want. Very unhappy with this beer. I don't think you can call this a marzen. Easily the worst beer of this type I've ever had by any brewer.

More hop taste than malt. In fact, on first swallow, from the first bottle, it tasted more like a very weak pale ale rather than a marzen. But the overall effect can vary from bottle to bottle. Very poor and very inconsistent rendition of the style.
Update: Sept 2020
Got a six pack of cans as a gift, because I sure wouldn't have bought this again.
I very seldom buy canned beer, but I was surprised that this tasted so different out of the can than my review last year of the longneck bottled variety.
This time, drank out of the can, it had a mild, inoffensive, soapy taste, with a low level of carbonation. Nothing resembling the style. How is Backpocket still in business?
