Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass not sure when it was bottled and says 8.4% ABV. Pours a very attractive reddish orange with a 2 finger slightly off white head that leaves behind a big ring of lace and some webs under that.
Smell is tangerine, apricot, toffee, biscuit, pine, and faint grapefruit.
Taste is more aggressive thank goodness big citrus tangerine, apricot, mango with some caramel, biscuit, and toffee and finishes with a nice piny grapefruit bitterness and some traces of alcohol.
Mouthfeel is pretty large for the style, moderate carbonation, not dry, and pretty malty for a DIPA, but drinks pretty easy.
Overall I really wish I knew when this was bottled, seems from all the sediment on the bottom, that has been hanging around awhile.

Got a growler from the brewery, drank that night and two nights later. Cloudy dark amber color, lots of fizz. Smells of citrus and flowers. Taste is good with hops up front then a sweet malt base after. Is good until a few seconds later this odd metallic/acidic aftertaste comes out of nowhere. Is better the second day, not sure if it needs time to mellow or my palette was just off. And the 8.5% was very noticeable. I'm happy to support an Iowa brewery.
