Intended to be a refreshing, thirst quenching beer for summer! Obsession’s flavor is defined by the use of rye malt and a healthy portion of hops. Rye contributes a unique earthy and spicy quality to the base and the exclusive use of Falconer’s Flight 7 C’s hops provide a desirable piney, citrusy character to the flavor and aroma. While this is a lighter bodied beer, dry hopping gives this beer a big hoppy personality!

I have been a fan of the rye beer genre ever since tasting Founder’s Red’s Rye.
This is no Red’s Rye but it’s quite good on its own accord.
Poured golden amber with just a bit of haze and has a bone white head that left copious lacing.
The aroma was leaving no doubt as to the hops involved, and the taste followed the aroma while tossing in some extra bitterness from the rye. Piney and dank and really quite tasty. All under 5% ABV too!

Description: Copper color and slightly hazy. Not much head or lacing. Smell is pine and citrus, but kind of subdued. More bitter than sweet or floral. Taste is bitter with notes of grapefruit but not much other citrus. It's not fruity or floral. Feel is dry, with a thin body and medium-high carbonation.
Overall: 4 (This beer is good and I may or may not drink it again) Very average for today's IPA choices. That's not to say it was bad, it just didn't stand out. It could have used more rye notes to differentiate the beer and make it stand out.

On tap. Got the dregs of the keg, so this one came out crazy hazy, just the way I like it. Looks like someone cut my beer with a shot of espresso. Smell is skunky dank hops, and that is a compliment. Taste is more of the same, with some wonderful rye spice. Might be the first time I've actually tasted rye in a rye beer. I just wish this was a big beer rather than a session (but I always say that). Overall amazing, will need to try again to make sure I didn't just get the good stuff.
