Enjoyed on tap at Wicked Weed in Asheville, NC. The pour is hazy and reddish-amber in color with a very thin head (likely the acidity from the cherries). The nose carries whiffs of cherries, must, and a little mint.
Light-medium body with a firm feel. The flavor is all about the cherries. They get you coming and going. The beer is slightly sweet up front, then your cheeks get pinched by a pleasant tartness (nowhere near what I would call sour) that carries through the finish. There is a nice stony dryness near the finish and some musty notes characteristic of the style. Again, this is all about the cherries. Dangerously drinkable.
Wow! This might be the ``cherriest'' cherry beer I have ever had. It tastes like fresh cherries, not cherry pie or cherry juice or cherry flavoring or cherry whatever. You get the faint sweetness, the tobacco-like earthiness, and a whole lot of mild tartness. Highly enjoyable stuff that would make for a wonderfully refreshing thirst-quenching summer beer.
