XL Whiskey Barrel Aged Saison, bought a 473ml can

Look: Brown/ruby colour. White lacing.

Smell: whiskey spice, pepper,

Taste: Whiskey, vanilla, spices, pepper, herbal, caramel,

Feel: Medium body, medium carbonation.

So overall would I recommend it ? Sure

Would I buy it again ? No, I did enjoy it but I won t buy it again because the whiskey taste was not the things I really like.

Poured on-tap in snifter, the beer is a very dark, almost black ruby-brown coloring. Nose of booze, berry sweetness, juniper, alcohol warmth, whiskey spice, candi sugar, and peppery notes. Flavors are slightly medicinal forward, with juniper, berry notes, vanilla, caramel, chocolate, booze, pepper, herbal spices, anise, licorice, and subtle funk. The bourbon and vanilla notes dominate the aftertaste, with a smooth, slick, oily feel. The finish is slick, with a spiced and sweet linger. Very good beer.

A fairly complex barrel age beer. Both the smell and taste have strong whiskey and peppercorn notes with a boozy hint to it. Mouthfeel is very strongly reminds of whiskey; smooth but viscous. Also a but of a burn too. Overall, recommend.
