Appearance: A simply, unassuming black body underneath a slim, khaki-colored head.
Smell: Well-roasted maltiness, unsweetened chocolate and plenty of estery fruitiness throughout as well as spice-minded phenols.
Taste: Roasted, bitterish malts launching off to a vibrant dark fruitiness of grape and prunes. Pinch of chewing gum. Spicy, peppery phenolics midway. Vague sense of the chocolate, not perceived saltiness. Drying with a light fruitiness sustained on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Very, very minor stickiness to the overall mouthfeel.
Overall: When it comes to foodstuffs, I'm all for salted-this and salted-thats, yet I have failed to like any of these new salted beers coming out, from Breckenridge's Salted Grapefruit Saison to NB's Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Beer thing. I say this not to kill conversation, or to make it seem like I am a know it all.

Brown frothy head, very smooth but kind of falters on the finish in a way I can't quite articulate. Overall, quite reminiscent of a stout or porter.
