Had this as a night cap at the Wicked Weed brew pub in Asheville after watching some playoff hockey. It was excellent.

This beer is smooth as silk. Very strong smell and taste of mocha. Flavors of the darkest chocolate with a hint of chili pepper. Would like to try more variants of this beer in the future.

Brownish black pour complete with a finger of brown foam. Aromas of whiskey and coffee lead, oak, fudge, vanilla, and slight char. Taste features dark depths of whiskey fueled coffee, chocolate fudge and brownie batter, slight black strap molasses and a kiss of smoky earth, before the oak and vanilla elevate. Feel is creamy, boozy, thick, chewy, and yet well balanced and complete, well made.

(variant? from 2017 notes).
Wicked Weed Cuban Coffee Stout aged in bourbon barrels with coffee, peppers, chocolate & spices. On cask at the 2017 ATL Cask Ale Tasting.
Near black and opaque but with lively ruby colored edges. Very appealing, rich and complex nose and flavor. Good balance. Slightly boozy. Medium-full body with light a bit more vanilla than ideal given the fine dark fruit, toffee and other flavors.

On draft at the main brewpub, for being on nitro, there is essentially no head, just a weird bubbly mat--I think that was definitely a wasted effort. Otherwise, appearance is muted, almost cola-like but shiny slick black with brown staining leg.

Smell is nougat, marshmallow, brownie batter, almond, and vanilla. Easily the best aspect of this beer.

On the palate comes really waxy oak and walnut, with bitter cocoa and a hint of amaretto.

Feel is very thin and watery, with a liquor-like heat.

For being a special treatment, I don't get much coffee at all, except for in the smell as it warms completely.

Had this on draft at Wicked Weed.

Appearance - Pours jet black with nice thick mocha head great lacing

Aroma - Huge coffee, bourbon and vanilla aromas.

Taste - The taste is very similar to the smell lots of dark chocolate and coffee the bourbon is very prevalent but does not overwhelm. Excellent flavors.

Feel - Velvet smooth, the nitro works well with this. Heat from the alcohol so smooth.

Overall - An excellent beer, maybe one of the best draft offerings I have had here.
