Gem clear, shiny dark copper with lots of rapidly rising, fine carbonation. A long-lasting, off-white foam is fine and leaves patchy lace on a PBGC Crispy Boi glass.
Brettanomyces saturates the nose, followed by strong oak. Light lemon and lots of spice (nutmeg, mince) follow. Warmth reveals some maraschino cherries.
This beer is quite tart, with a fair amount of sourness. Light sweetness quickly fades to strong dryness. Nutmeg and mince are prominent. Oak and earthiness follow quickly behind. A long, tart finish adds mint and warmth.
The body is light to medium with a satin texture. Alcohol is well above expectation. Ample fizzy carbonation adds to exceptional dryness and light metallic notes.
This beer is very tart and sour for a Farmhouse Ale. However, that is no surprise, given its name. The earthiness is very nice, even on a mild spring day. Bottle dated 04 May 2017.

500 mL bottle purchased August 6, 2019 at Wicked Weed bottle shop. Poured into Lawson's tulip glass.
L: Little bit of a foamy white head and some lacing. Beer is a very deep copper.
S: Yeasty, a bit of funk (no doobie), a bit of citrus.
T: Pretty clean, earthy, somewhat grassy, and a bit of citrus. A bit of sour, but dialed properly.
F: Light bodied, moderate carbonation. Constructed and balanced well. Dry and refreshing, for the most part.
O: Very good basic Saison.

I thought Brettabolic was a pretty good Farmhouse Ale with just the right amount of Brett.
Look: cloudy light brown with a very thick off-white head
Aroma: lemon, oak, biscuit, brett funk
Taste: bready, with citrus, oak, and lots of brett funk.
Feel: medium body.

Wicked Weed’s brettanomyces sours continue to impress. Great farmhouse funk smell and a taste that doesn’t overwhelm like other more citrusy sours.

500mL bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 8.99. Bottled 5/4/17. Served in a Wicked Weed snifter. Enjoyed 8/10/17.
Pours an opaque ruby chestnut with almost two fingers of manilla head. The foam fades to a persistent frothy layer, a full collar and some wide bands of lace.
Wet wood and Brett are large and in charge in the aroma. Musty bread, earth and overripe fruit skins.
Tastes of earthy, farmy Brett, funky wet wood, fruit skin and old hay. Flavors are beautifully Bretty and easy to drink.
Almost chalky, medium body with fluffy carbonation. Earthy, funky finish with Brett, wet oak and fruit skins.
Brettabolic is a really nice Brett show from Wicked Weed. Allowing the entire fermentation to occur in oak brings in considerable earthy wood character to compliment all that pleasant funk. As much as I'd like to write them off for "selling out", Wicked Weed continues to consistently produce more good beer than I can ignore.
