this is epic, about as high fruit intensity and pigment as one could imagine, really insane flavor potency too, absolutely delicious, drinks like an enormous glass of cabernet franc or something, tannic and almost gritty and drying, yet also so juicy and lush and full, its wonderful, on tap at the source too! the deepest purple color, i was shocked by the saturation when it got to the table, gorgeous grape candy color on it, short little bubble head stained dark pink, relatively viscous, surprised the alcohol content is so low. the aroma is neat, some bacterial sourness to it, no sharper than the tang from the fruit itself, very red winey to me, the oak aspect is there too, and there is light slightly wild funkiness keeping it interesting, but huge blackberry and black currant juiciness and almost medicinal character, mouthwatering and amazing, there must just be an absolute ton of fruit in here, i think i remember others from this morte series also being heavy handed on the fruit like this, but its been awhile, in any event, its incredible. the flavor is similar, the fruit is well out in front of the ferment, but sets it up well sourness is all late, juicy and sweeter and sort of ripe and just picked earlier, heavy red wine and a black cherry wrinkle in the middle, puckery and oaky later, light vanilla, modest sweetness offsetting some tang, center of tongue flavor max situation with this, its positively as much fruit as can be in this beer, any beer, and i am all about it. quite a bit of body, not overly acidic, fine carbonation for what it is, not super excited but the pace works. i could see this being too much for some, but its not too much for me, loved it. not sure i get much grain flavor, like that fundamental beer element is hardly there, but the sacrifice is a noble one, and overall this is super impressive beer, one of my favorite pours throughout our entire asheville trip, which is saying a lot, as we covered some serious ground this time! brilliant specimen.
