First had: on tap at Wicked Weed
Reddish-brown pour with a thick white ringlet that stuck around until the end. Nose was full of Belgian yeast and fruity esters. Big dose of Belgian yeast in the taste, plums delivering an almost tannic quality, rum raisin notes, fairly sweet, with some bready malt undertones. Almost seemed a little boozy, even though the ABV wasn't that high. Body was medium, mouthfeel was...Belgian, somewhere between a dubbel and tripel. Decent, but I think a full pour would be a bit too much of this one.

On-tap at Wicked Weed Brewing, Asheville, NC
A: The beer is clear but very dark amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin off white head that never completely faded away.
S: Light aromas of Belgian yeast are present in the nose along with some notes of malts and hints of plums.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, except that the plum flavors are slightly stronger. No sweetness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This dubbel isn't sweet like some of the beers in the style but is you are looking for a Belgian-inspired ale with a little fruity aromas and flavors.
