On tap at Devilicous in Temecula CA
Served in a stemmed pokal glass - Notes from 04/03/2015
A: Pours a burnished brassy amber look with some well fined clarity to it. Lots of visible bubble show to this one leading up to a creamy layer of ivory lathers over top. A few intermittent waves of stick are left clinging to the glass on the drink down.
S: A real passionfruit forward nose. Very floral and tropic with some herbals, grass, and zesty citrus fruit mixed in. There is a touch of bready pale malts but the fragrance is not all that sweet. Overall a real nice Galaxy hop blaster here.
T: Flavor follows suite with some super concentrated galaxy notes of passionfruit and green melon. Light underpinnings of grapefruit and herbal zestiness. Very tropical and floral to me with a solid hit of bitter resins. Malt lends in some soft bread notes and mild golden sweetness. Alcohol is completely masked and all around good drinking balance to this. Finishes dry and resinous on the palate.
M: The mouthfeel is dry and light with a very crisp finish and some ample puckering bitterness. Has a nice long lasting effect on the palate.
D: I found this to be quite good. The catchy name had me thinking of a Galaxy hopped IPA and the end product did not disappoint. Loads of passionfruit notes here. Only my second brew from these guys and they can do up a proper IPA in my book.
