Clear dark golden color in the Ciney snifter. Pleasant hoppy flowery and resiny aroma. Light body. Some honey in the malt. Bready and slightly sweet. But then it's time for the bitterness. Bright and assertive and slightly metallic.
This has that German perfumey hop note I associate with the Kölsch style. This version is quite bitter but unfortunately overwhelmed by it. Resiny aftertaste. A tasty and rather intense lower-alcohol brew, but tiresome after some sipping. This one mixes nicely with less well-endowed brews. From the 32 oz jug filled at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham yesterday.
