This is the newest beer brewed for the Bellingham United kickball team, and available at their matches and the Copper Hog, home pub for the local hooligans. Served in straight pint glass. Poured a very cloudy mud brown color with just a thin cap of off-white head that had moderate retention and decent lacing. I really had an issue with the color of the beer, and wanted to score it lower.
The aroma was fairly typical, a slightly sweet malt base and some gentle, subdued hops. On the tongue, there was a coffee taste that dominated over the base malt. The beer wasn't as sweet as the aroma had led me to expect. There was just a wee bit of citrus hops showing through at the back of the tongue, under the coffee/roast flavor.
The body was nicely full, without being heavy or sticky, and had a nice smoothness across the tongue. Drinkability was decent, I'm not a coffee drinker, so that aspect put me off a bit, but YMMV. Overall, an OK take on the style, I'd say try a sample before going for a full pour.
