Served in straight pint glass. Poured hazy/cloudy straw-gold color, with just a thin cap of soapy white head that had very low retention and lacing.
The aroma was mostly grain, and the chili aspect was very light, almost unnoticeable. The malts were very sweet smelling, and tasting. Whether this was designed to balance the heat of the peppers, I don't know, but there wasn't much chili heat to balance anyway. The flavor was mostly bland and neutral.
The body was the typical light-medium of the style. Drinkability was OK, for a bland, personality-less brew. If you happen to be out on Orcas Island, and happen to stop in their tasting room, and this beer happens to be on tap, you shouldn't feel bad if you skip it. You also shouldn't feel bad if you try it. Whatevs.
