North Dakota from field to pint. All of the malt in our golden ale comes from Two Track Malting, located just three miles down the road from Laughing Sun Brewery in Bismarck, North Dakota. Golden Color, mild hop flavor, always pleasant on the palate. A quaffable crowd pleaser!

12 oz can thanks to Rich. Medium golden pour with small white head. Aroma features light grainy notes, some adjunct grains, smidge of hops. Taste is more grain flavors, light, gentle.

First beer from the Peace Garden State *not* from Drekker as I picked this up at the Cashwise Liquor store in Jamestown a few months ago, when I was going through town. Who wouldn't love a beer that took pride in being from North Dakota and indeed, this put the gold in an American Blonde (or Golden) Ale as it was fun, bright, and oh-so-easy to drink - even on a cold winter's night!

Of course, this was golden while also being softly hazy and subtly radiant. Enough foam topped this off as it quickly and loudly subsided, although the lacing left behind was minimal at best as only a few dots lingered in the middle of my pint glass. Bread, cereal, and malt resembling Golden Promise were in the nose as the taste was full-bodied and reminiscent of sunshine on the prairie. Lots of underlying sweetness was in this as it had a nice floral undertone underneath everything else that was going on.

Low in bitterness and moderate in carbonation, this was what a good American Blonde Ale should be, down to the low alcoholic content. So easy to have a few of these in a setting although this certainly wasn't a mindless beer. Theodore Roosevelt fell in love with the sublime beauty of North Dakota when he was living out there and this brew complemented his sentiments as it had it's own charm that wasn't readily apparent. The lingering sourness and champagne-like aftertaste left me wanting more, and loving North Dakota long after leaving it on my trip. More beers of this style need to be like this - hopefully, with a date somewhere on the can!

First North Dakota Beer! Thanks to mindtrip2012 for the stellar trade!

L: Pale golden translucence with a thing but lingering fizzy head and some mottled lacing.

S: Some Belgian Saison notes with the bready aroma, also floral hops present.

T: Quite refreshing. I don't think I've had such an interesting brew for the ABV. Malt, sweet, and some earthy and spicy hops in the mix.

F: Impressed here most of all. It is thin of course, but still a medium mouthfeel and creamy / coating. Superb.

O: Clean finishing, great mouthfeel for it's low ABV, what isn't to like here!

This beer pours a clear gold with a minimal head. The aroma features of lots of sweet bread and cereal grains, with a little bit of melon. The flavor is much cleaner, with biscuit malt, white brad, and white pepper. The mouthfeel is medium bodied an clean with a bit of sweetness. Overall, an interesting blonde - sweet in aroma, but dry and very clean on the body - I could use a bit more malt to hang my hat on here.

Poured from 12oz can into glass. No canning date information found.
Partly cloudy, pale gold colored body. Sliver of white head settles back to scattered islands and thin ring. A few spots of lacing are left behind with each sip.
Aroma of toasted malt and floral, earthy hops.
Taste is slightly sweet, with toasted malts and an addition of slightly spicy hops. Low bitterness, and a touch of fruitiness.
Thin to medium mouth feel. Very good carbonation.
Very easy drinking session beer, with the sweet malt and slightly spicy hops balance. A definite step up from macro lagers, providing more taste and a better mouth experience.
