On cask for Cask & Ye Shall Receive held at MacLeod Ale Brewing Company in Van Nuys, CA.

Pours a murky orange with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Tiny particles of sediment are seen suspended in the beer after the pour. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, earth, and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a great mix of toast, caramel, and citrus forward hop qualities.

Serving type: on cask.

Had this on cask. I can’t refuse a cask-conditioned ale!

This was the surprise find of a recent festival. Wish I had a chance to try more of their brews but their kegs kicked early.

Their bitter pours a golden toasty with that tight foaming of a cask-conditioned ale.

There’s a light toasted biscuit note to the aroma. The flavor has this incredibly flavorful biscuity-toast note which balances out the lightly hopped notes. Smooth finish. I could drink this all day.

Had on tap at the bar in a 5oz pour.

Poured with a slight dark amber color and a dense head that dissipated slowly.

Smelled clean with a light scent of pine.

Taste was bitter and with a slight pine note. it flowed down the tongue smoothly then left the mouth with a slight dry feeling.

Overall it was good experience.

Had this at the West Coast Brew Fest 2013, on cask. Poured nice hazy medium straw color with minimal head.
The smell was a pleasant dry hay and grain.
The taste had a smooth grain flavor. Pretty mild.
The texture was a softer crisp with minimal carbonation (obviously).
It's enjoyable and an easy drinker.
