On tap at the brew pub. Served in a snifter.

A: Pitch black hue. Tiny cap of mocha head rests on top. Decent retention. Soapy lace.

S: Rich black coffee, dark chocolate, molasses, lightly bitter roasted malts. Smells like a RIS.

T: Cocoa dust, bitter dark chocolate, lots of burnt coffee, black earth, just a hint of peanut butter. There's a bit of a mineral/metallic taste in the finish. Not too off putting but it's there. Where they hiding the booze?

M: Medium body. A bit thin for an imperial. Low carbonation.

O: Not bad by any means. A bit rough around the edges but a tasty drinkable RIS. Not a trace of the 9% comes through at all.
