Sampled from a 64oz. growler fresh from Olde Hickory.

Poured a dark brown, almost black. Opaque with a fair sized, slightly off-white head that provided nice lacing around the glass.

Aromas of roasted malt, toffee, and caramel. Very appetizing scents and very traditional porter profile.

Taste begins with roasted malt and slides like silk into toffee, caramel, and a slightly bitter coffee. Not a full coffe, but a sweetened coffee bitterness. Very smooth and creamy. Nice full body with a slight chewiness. Wonderful to drink and enjoy.

The flavor and taste even remained after the beer had lost most of its carbonation since I didn't not finish the Growler in one night.

This and the Hickory Stick Stout are the breweries best offerings that I've had to date IMHO.
