Refillable growler received from Loki as part of Growler-It-Forward 3.0. Thanks for the opportunity.
First imperial pint glass pours with a dense tan 1" head, which impressed me after all its miles travelled care of FedEx. Head above this almost opaque dark, dark brew showed immense staying power, and lacing was admirable as well. Aroma dominated by the dark malts, little room for much else, as you would often expect from a stout. Taste is as well of the roasted malts, and the oatmeal specifically can be felt, although the brew seems to be somewhat thin in the mouthfeel. The lack of what I perceive as heartiness does accentuate the drinkability, making it smoother and easier to quaff. A faraway brew that I am glad to have had the opportunity to enjoy.
