Poured from the 5 liter draught can into my half liter glass with the pretty german pictures of the town of Kaiserslautern on it. A fairly dark white thin head dissapates quickly leaving lace around the glass. A faint malty smell and one of bread is all my nose brings up. A bitter hop, orange peel, raisin flavor is quite nicely balanced and not too heavy. Mouthfeel is a little thin but that also helps the drinkability move into the really nice range. Some get carried away with the clove and spice, but this one is very nicely balanced.

The OHB Christmas Ale looked just a little darker than my wife's sweet tea in our dimly lit wine barrel. It was crowned with a small thin fizzy head that last half way through the glass as I sipped the beer. Nice carbonation bubbles rose to the top to add to the appearance. The aroma was weak, but may have been better if the beer had more head. Nevertheless, I smelled faint spice and hops. The beer had a sweet piney taste at first with just a touch of hop bitterness on the back end. It was well balanced between sweet, spice, and bitter. It felt thin and watery in the mouth.
Overall this is a very drinkable beer. This is a nice one to session during the holidays.

This beer was served with a candy cane in it. It was exactly the same color as my glass of sweet tea. It smelled like a frasier fir. It had a red beer taste that had been spiced. The mouthfeel and drinkability was fair. It was somewhat bitter. It had a thin head that did not go away quickly. I will drink another one of these before the season is over. The candy cane was a nice touch.
