Had this back in July when I went home. I considered this one of the better beers I had from OH
Poured light copper color with 1/2" white head. Some head retention & lacing
S:Grapefruitty hops & fruittyness
T: Citrussy grapefruitty hops& a little freuittyness up front. Warming alcohol as it warms up. Finishes dry & hoppy
MF: Medium body with good carbonation & skews a little too hoppy balance-wise IMO
Drank okay, glad to see this brewery taking advantage of the cap being lifted in NC

Brought a growler of this home from Amos's on Hwy 70. Not sure if the serving is actually a grolwer or from the tap, but since the beer is in a growler, I chose that option.
Pours a burnt orange color with a 3/4 finger head. Fades fairly rapidly but leaves lacing on the way down. Lots of action under the surface as the carbonation is very active.
Aroma is attractive, yet oddly disheartening. Definite fruit hops and pine tar. But there is a weird sort of stale smell to the beer. That smell is brussel sprouts (something I hated as kid) and steamed cabbage. Citrus hops are great. Malt balance in the aroma as well. But I cant get past the dreaded sprout my mom forced on me as a wee tyke.
Taste is alright. Nothing spectacular. Nice hop bite with a generous malt balance. Definite tastes of the aforementioned veggies. No alcohol noticeable.
Atrophied mouthfeel that leaves me wanting more substance. Drinkability is pleasant for a 7% but the taste and aroma detract a bit from this finding.

Pours a golden, red, orange with a nice fluffy head with retention. Well laced. Smells of hops and a faint metallic smell. Taste is of hops up front with a malty sweetness to balance it out Faint fruit. Not as hoppy as I expected, but very well balanced and still good. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery but ok. This is amazingly drinkable for a 7% IPA. I had it with a pasta salad and it was perfect.

Had this on-tap at the Olde Hickory Taproom. This is their newest beer. It was a nice orange color with a slight hint of red. It smelled of hops. The taste was of hops. It was in the medium range as far as bitterness goes. It had a good mouthfeel to it and the drinkability was very high as well. I could have drank this beer all night. It is nice to see Olde HIckory Brewery is now brewing a higher alcohol beer since the 6% cap is gone. I will return to the Taproom often and this will be one of the beers I order.
