Poured from 22 into a pint glass. Very nice dark amber with a nice two finger head that leaves some nice lacing along the glass. Smells really good. Lots and lots of sweet malts. With some nice cherry notes. With just a hint of some piney bitterness. Taste pretty good. Again some sweet caramel malt with hints of toffee with just a touch of hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is just a little thin for me. But the carbonation is spot on for the style. The ABV is a low for this style, so I'll have no trouble polishing off this 22.

From my memory this was described as a barrel aged Irish Red. Might as well have been a Barleywine though.
Red/amber pour with cream colored head. Aroma expecially was reminiscent of a red ale. Some malt, peat, wet sock. Flavor was smoother, caramel and light red fruits adding to the peat, malt, wheat bread. Solid medium body, but drinkable. Not as enjoyable as the Bardstown or Black Magic, but another good barrel aged brew from Olde Hickory.
I see it's bottled now and is a barleywine.

Pours a deep amber with little head and nothing really to retain. Clean lacing.
Very fruity nose (cherries mainly), but hey it's a barleywine.
Extremely malty and almost salty from the thickness of the malt. Big, big malt finish.
Very smooth and sweet.
