Enjoyed from the 12 oz bottle in a pint glass. This lager pours a nice light amber with a moderate head of white bubbles that dissipates to a thick ring and light lacing. Nose of caramel malts and a light grain background with light hops in the background. Flavors follow the nose with moderately sweet caramel and roasted malts followed by a grain aftertaste and a muted hop balance with a slight tartness on the aftertaste. Not bad really for what many considered "old Dad beer" back in the day. A nice revitalization of an old label, much like Hudephol did with a solid rebranding of the label.

Nothing characteristically "Vienna" about this. It's a pretty basic, inoffensive lager, *except* for a weird sweetness that reminds me of homebrew wherein the priming sugar has failed to ferment out. This is cheap and drinkable, but "good" would be a stretch.
