Pours nearly black with beige head. Aroma is fantastic pure bourbon. The flavor is slightly disappointing. Notes of oak and vanilla from the bourbon barrel over a nice stout base. Not enough of the right kind of sweetness and missing something to round out the flavor profile—a bit of chocolate or coconut would take this over the top. The mouthfeel is thick and syrupy with decent carbonation and a dry finish. The high abv comes through with noticeable warming. Overall it is good but perhaps a missed opportunity to make something great.
