Lying dormant in rye whiskey barrels for the past year, Terror of Demons emerges from its cocoon to new life. Packed to the brim with the dark chocolate, dried fruit, cocoa and roasty character indicative of the style, then wrapped in a boozy velvet blanket of barrel goodness full of vanilla and caramel, this brew is an exquisite treasure worth seeking. Take heart, have hope, and let the Terror of Demons join your life’s beautiful adventure!

Appearance: Pours coffee colored with a one finger head that fades to a collar; spotty droplets of lace
Smell: Charred wood and chocolate aromatics with a hint of spicy Rye
Taste: Chocolate forward with the charred wood quickly emerging; boozy through the middle and the finish tastes strongly of Rye
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Somewhat disappointing, as this needs a lot more malt to stand up to the Rye barrel aging; doesn't taste much like what you would expect from a RIS
Thanks, matt-evans2, for the opportunity

Pours black with a substantial head for a Russian Imperial Stout. Aroma is bourbon, ABV and chocolate. Taste is bourbon and chocolate, though much less carbonated than at pour. Much of this brew is mystifying but it is good. Not what I was expecting for a Russian Imperial Stout and at 8.3% eyebrows are raised, but still. Ok.
