Initial Point is a landmark in the great state of Idaho. Selected in 1867 by LaFayette Cartee, this site was used to survey all other cities and landmarks in the state.
Slanted Rock’s American style IPA is a medium intensity beer, golden in color with moderately-high bitterness. It is kettle and dry hopped with Cascade for it’s floral and citrus aroma characteristics. Columbus hops upfront provide high bittering and Crystal malts add a caramelize sweetness to the crisp finish.

Don't remember this beer or brewery but gave it a really good rating so I should remember it. From the location probably had when we were in Boise visiting my wife's sister.

Cloudy orange amber with thick rocky head. Aroma of malt and light hops, taste is a bit more complex with the malt hops, spice and grassy elements all playing together. Mildly bitter with no lingering palate. Average.

Received a can from my neighbors who visited Boise and gave to me on 4-15-17. No freshness date visible.
Beer poured deep golden with a beautiful white head that has some great hang time and is leaving lacing behind.
Nose is muted citrus.
Taste is muted tangerine and grapefruit over an ample malt base. Finish is grapefruit rind that is off kilter from the beer.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and pretty smooth and refreshing.
Overall this is a decent beer but nothing to chase after.

Clear orange amber which became hazy after swirling the can to finish the pour. The head was massive and long lasting. Lacing is copious.
Smell is orange zest and floral piney hops.
Taste is piney floral fruity bitter hops with a good amount of bready malt.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Finish is medium dry and bitter.
Overall a fine American IPA. I would drink this often if it was available in Western Oregon. Purchased in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Appearance is dark gold with creamy tan head.
Smell dirty hops, sour citrus, over-ripe tropical fruits, a little metallic.
Taste is clean, snappy, biscuit malt, big fruit hop profile.
Mouthfeel is dry, creamy, light bodied.
Drinkability is high. My favorite of the handful of Idaho IPAs I picked up recently in Twin Falls on a road trip to Yellowstone National Park, although this was the first can I poured into a shaker pint, which accentuates the unfavorable aspects of the nose.

Handsome orangey amber pour with big coarse foam in the New Belgium snifter. Long-lasting frothiness in the mouth that is thoroughly pleasant and refreshing. From the 12 oz can purchased in the six pack at the Boise Food Co-op. I thought it might be a long couple of days in Salt Lake.
Some sweet malt along with the acidity. Flavor of tangerine peel with some peach and cedar wood. Resiny aftertaste with plenty of bitterness. A sturdy IPA but quite drinkable. Sharp and tangy and altogether likeable. Lots of flavor for the hop afficianado.

Can picked up at the 16th St Albertsons... Pours a slightly hazy light orange with a short-lived white head but still leaves nice lacing... Sweetish sorta tangerine like hoppiness... that is accentuated by a too heavy (for my palate) residual maltiness... good bitterness... Nice enough IPA... No flaws, I just like mine without so much malt balance.

Medium orange hue with traces of sediment floating about, giving it a murky look. Balanced and smooth with good hop bite. On the less bitter side for an IPA. Not too shabby.
