Tasted on tap at restaurant in Mountain Home, ID. Good appearance for a red ale. Aromas and flavors are ok for an American Red Ale, but nothing special. There was a low level of medicinal or chemical bite in the mid-palate that was not pleasant, but was muted enough to ignore unless I was actively analyzing flavors. Others have rated this beer higher, so perhaps there was a problem with this keg or tap system.

Clear amber orange with three fingers of dense cream color head that lasts. Lots of foamy lace.
Smell is sweet and malty.
Taste is sweet sugary malts with a good helping of hop bitterness. Pretty well balanced.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Finish is bitter sweet with a dry bitterness at the end.
Overall a fine red ale.

Can from the 16th St Albertsons... Pours slightly haze amber with a good off-white head... spotty lacing... Dry toast and light caramel... Okay piney hop flavor and aroma... could use a touch more bitterness IMO to balance a residual caramel maltiness... Decent Amber Ale... Nothing to write home about, but I wouldn't ever turn one down... There are just better versions out there.

12 oz. can. Solid, but underwhelming amber ale. Nice orange color with small creamy head, malty citrus aroma, taste brings some spicy, zesty flavors, tingly palate. Interesting, might be good with outdoor grilling.

Can from my uncle in Boise. Appears hazy orange with an appropriate foamy head that remains for a good period of time. Aroma is bready malt and yeasty esters. Flavor is the same, with hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body. An okay example.

They didn't pull any punches.
If you want a classic, great Red Ale this is a go-to.
It's semi-sweet and doesn't have any prevalent spices.
Enough body to satisfy but light enough to drink a bunch of.
Creamy, moderate head
I enjoy 1 and I enjoy 6.
My favorite from Slanted Rock so far.
