This is one of KDB’s better beers. Nice ruby / brown body with lots of sticky lacing. Sharp piney hop aroma. Astringent taste.. Lingering bitterness, slight alcohol burn.

This beer is a step up from their standard IPA, but still not a hop heads delight. Not sure if it is the hop selections chosen or the combination of hops and yeast used in the brewing,
The coloring on this beer is a little darker than their standard IPA , a deeper golden coloring. There are more up front hops but not what you expect from an Imperial IPA. The finish surprised me with a slightly spicy or smoky flavor. I liked it.
Over all I enjoyed this beer, but being a hop head I have a certain expectation when drinking the style. If you like good beer then you will enjoy this beer…but if you are one who gets upset when a beer doesn't follow the typical style guidelines then maybe you should pass.
